Description

The Kemper Profiler PowerRack adds a built in 600 Watt power amp to the Kemper Profiler concept and turns the former recording solution into the most versatile guitar amplification system ever. Utilizing the Kemper CabDriver mode, guitarists now have the choice of playing through regular guitar cabinets or full range monitor systems. This extends the Kemper Profiler concept as the perfect solution for the rehearsal room and the stage.

The 600 Watt Class D amplifier was carefully selected for the guitar amplification system to guarantee utmost performance. After extensive listening tests, a lot of measuring and looking thoroughly at the typical sonic behavior of power amps for guitar amplification on the market, it became clear that only the best components are capable of delivering impressive results.

One year after the arrival of the Kemper Profiler concept to the market, it has found its place on all levels guitar players usually operate: at home, in the rehearsal room, the recording studio and on stage, even arenas. Featuring a user interface nearly identical to the lunchbox version, the Kemper Profiler Rack is just as easy to operate. The layout is highly intuitive and already familiar to users of more traditional amps. The most important parameters, such as gain, tonestack and volume, are directly accessible. There are even dedicated knobs to control the reverb and delay from the front panel.

The Kemper Profiler represents a radical new approach to guitar sound. For decades, the electric guitarist has effectively been shackled to the tube amplifier as the only solution for getting "that sound". This combination may indeed be glorious, but it is far from ideal; achieving consistent results between practice, studio, and touring situations continues to challenge the guitarist, just as it has since the early 1930's. With the advent of the Kemper Profiler, everything has changed. For the first time in history, guitarists are free to create the most unique and individual tones that reflect the very essence of the player, and then capture these exact sounds into the digital domain with Kemper's patented technology.

"Profiling" is what we have named our proprietary technology that captures the sound and feel of a specific tube amplifier. In other words, the Kemper Profiler doesn't simply give you a list of static digital amplifier reproductions. Instead, profiling creates a vivid, living, dynamic and multi-dimensional image of your existing tube amp.

Profiling is as simple as plugging your tube amp into the Kemper Profiler and pressing 'record.' Just insert the Kemper Profiling amplifier into the recording chain and it will do its magic. Test signals will be sent from the Kemper Profiler Amplifier into your tube amp and recorded by the microphone in front of your cabinet.

You don't even have to play your guitar. After less than a minute the Kemper Profiler acquires the sonic DNA of your tube amp and offers you the resulting custom profile. You can then use the A/B comparison mode to compare original tube amp sound with the profiled sound. This gives you a fast and convenient way to make final tweaks to the profile to get it exactly right. One year after the arrival of the Kemper Profiler concept to the market, it has found its place on all levels guitar players usually operate: at home, in the rehearsal room, the recording studio and on stage, even arenas. The Kemper Profiler includes the standard Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble and Presence controls that you would expect from an guitar amplifier. However, in contrast to many vintage amps, we have kept the gain control neutral, so you are able to find the sweet spot of your amp, and run this optimal sound at any gain level.

The gain control ranges over 80dB and features an automatic volume compensation for clean settings.

Now, imagine if you could change the sonic character of a profile way beyond what's possible with the amp itself...What if you could change the sonic age of the amp, or the bite of the pick? What if you could modify the power supply of your profiled amp in order to benefit from power sagging or be larger than life? With the Kemper Profiler, you can! We allow you to dynamically adjust key aspects of your favorite amps which would otherwise be impossible or require hardware modifications. You can do anything from minor tweaks, such as making your Marshall Bluesbreaker profile sound a bit more vintage, to more radical changes such as adding some modern high gain chunk to your vintage Fender Bassman.

Enjoy the great profiles and rigs that come with it.

They were created by professional guitarists, engineers and producers in studios all over the world. Right out of the box, you will find classic tones of studio standards as well as profiles of highly sought-after amplifiers, some costing many times the price of the Kemper Profiler.

The growing library

We will be working tirelessly to create new profiles for you to download for free from our website. All the profiles we create are extracted from real amplifiers and cabinets, each with a distinct personality of its own. To take the profiles, we employ the exact same techniques an engineer would use to create a great guitar tone in the studio, so you can be sure to receive the most authentic sounds from a digital guitar amp, ever!

Create your own profiles from your own amps

If you happen to have access to tube amps, feel free to make your own profiles. You will probably feel more familiar with profiles of your own gear, than with those other people have made.

It might be also a nice idea to hire a professional studio for a day or two, where you can create your signature profiles with the help of an experienced sound engineer. You then have the luxury of being able to use these profiles wherever you like, and with no time constraints.

If you are tracking in a studio, you should profile the guitar amps that you record with. Later, you simply take these profiles with you and know that you can recreate the exact sound of the recording, both in the rehearsal studio and live on stage.

So much more than just flicking channels

Play completely different amp models rather than just switching amp channels on stage! Imagine playing the verse with a sparkling profile of a 1965 black-faced 2x12" combo, done in a premiere studio in Nashville, while burning through the solo with a hot-rodded, British 100Watts monster, driving a 4x12" cab you just profiled last week in your buddy's rehearsal space. How cool is that?
