Kemper always takes two constants into consideration, namely Clapton's view of the blues in connection with his understanding of "blackness" (how could his derailments in Birmingham against blacks come about?) And his lifelong adoration of the blues myth Robert Johnson (1911-1938), perhaps the only sure reference point in his life.
