What makes the KSM8 so unique?

Due to the second, passive membrane, the KSM8 offers a very large sweet spot as well as marginal proximity effects. Together with the neutral mids and highs, the result is a consistent, natural vocal reproduction, regardless of the artist's microphone technique.

How are Unidyne III and Dualdyne different?

The Unidyne III capsule (e.g. SM57/SM58) only has a membrane with a pneumatic shock absorber. The advantages of Dualdyne technology lie in the second, additional membrane. The Dualdyne capsule structure consists of two extremely thin membranes - one active, one passive - and an inverted airflow system.
