Description
Since the fifties of the last century is the Neumann M 50 as the ideal microphone for orchestral recording and miking of stringed instruments. Thanks to its phenomenal impulse response and unique directional characteristic swear even today many fans on these classics - both for use in the studio and for live operation.
In developing the new M 150 Tube, numerous properties of the "original" M over 50 and microphone built into a very modern concept. With low self noise, a Titanium membrane and capsule, transformerless circuit technology and innovative power supply, the M 150 Tube is not just a reissue, but an entirely new microphone.
Acoustic properties:
The titanium membrane of the executed as a pressure transducer capsule has a diameter of 12 mm and is extremely thin. Already for a long time Titan for its unique, very special properties is known. Until recently, however, the material was not readily available in the necessary for such a quality microphone.
The capsule of the M 150 Tube is surrounded by popular demand leading engineers of exactly the same great microphone basket that was already using the old M 50. The fact that the diaphragm of the pressure receiver flush with the surface of a small ball (40 mm) concludes, makes the polar pattern of the M 150 Tube is entirely unique. In the area of low frequencies, the system works as a simple pressure transducer with a perfect omnidirectional. In the mid and high frequencies, however, is the sound incidence angle through the special construction close to some.
The M 150 Tube is the ideal microphone for any stereo, 5.1 or 7.1 surround recording, particularly in the Decca Tree method (three-point system).
Electrical Characteristics:
The dynamic range of the M 150 Tube is 119 dB and is guarantor for an uncompromising playback of the entire musical spectrum.
Thanks to the extremely low self noise of 15 dB-A can be worked from the outset with a higher gain, without prejudice to the overall noise level is raised. In addition, the transformerless output circuit of this microphone ensures even with very faint signals for an extraordinarily High definition playback up to down in the bass range and allows the use of very long cables without having to take a loss in sound quality in the purchase.
